Trip Leader Job Description
The ASB trip leader,
with assistance from the Community Service Office, will be responsible for recruiting participants, organizing fundraising,
reflection, recognizing volunteer efforts, and evaluating the experience at its conclusion.
Specific Responsibilities
Each trip leader
is responsible for their trip, this includes but is not limited to: transportation, housing, publicity, fundraising, finances,
team building, and any other task as determined by the ASB Leadership Team.
The Following is the required criteria for participating in ASB:
· Previous participation in an ASB trip or similar experience in the past.
· Must be present and active at all leadership training meetings.
· You will meet with your co-leader and determine strengths/weaknesses of each other and how you
will develop leadership for your trip.
· You must participate in all training and team building events of the Leadership Team. This includes a one-day retreat.
· At trip meetings you will need to prepare your trip for their upcoming week of service by providing
realistic information about what to expect. You are required to hold your first
meeting before 11/01/05 to inform the group of the status of the trip, fundraising objectives and team building activities. After your initial meeting, six regularly scheduled trip meetings should follow. These meetings should include discussion of the aforementioned as well as the following:
Conflict
Resolution
Group Social
Alcohol Policy
Defensive Driving
Team Work
Reflection
Fundraising
Housing/Location Details
Service Project Rules/Policies
· You also need to provide for reflection activities before, during, and after the trip.
· Trip leaders must have Defensive Driving.
· You must commit to the above requirements and expect to be active as a member of the Leadership
Team from October 2005 to April 2006.

· A strong interest in the ASB experience
· Ability to work well with co-leader and trip participants
· Creativity, energy, patience and reliability
· Prior leadership experience
