We are currently all filled up for our Spring 2006 ASB trips, but we encourage you to check out the application as well as email us any questions you might have for future trips.

Alternative Spring Break

The Alternative Spring Break (ASB) program began in 1996 at Keene State College and has grown in size from about 18 participants to nearly 100. Groups of students travel to places like North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, and Virginia to work with Habitat for Humanity affiliates established in those states. These students fundraise for the trips in the months prior to leaving then travel for a week during the schools spring vacation. This year we will also be having two groups that will head down to hurricane relief sites; Mississippi and New Orleans. Students who wish to participate on the hurricane relief trips will need to attend disaster relief training in order to be allowed to attend. The dates and meeting times of the disaster relief training have yet to be determined. Any student at KSC is welcome to join an ASB trip and each person who has returned has said it is a true bonding experience with the other Keene State students as well as the families and workers they meet.
