Events:
Habifest: A nationwide
celebration of campus chapters of Habitat for Humanity. For the past few years,
the Keene State College chapter has participated, setting up various displays and projects in the Student Center.
Students can learn more about Habitat for Humanity internationally, nationally, and locally and are encouranged to get involved.
Hoops for Houses: On
the day of Midnight Madness, the school celebration of the first basketball game, Habitat for Humanity runs an event
outside of the student center. This is a fundraiser where people attempt to make baskets from different distances and
can win food and tee shirts.
Great American Sleep Out:
As part of Hunger Homelessness Awareness Week, Habitat encourages students to spend
the night outside the Student Center in cardboard boxes to better understand what it
is like to be homeless. This also brings awareness to other students of the problem of homelessness in their area.
Annual Zox Concert:
For the past two years Habitat has invited the punk/rock band Zox to Keene State
College. They play a concert to promote Habitat for Humanity. This past year all of the proceeds were donated to the
Keene Community Kitchen. Visit zoxband.com.
Regular Weekend Builds:
As different Habitat and community service projects come about, the campus chapter gathers volunteers to help out.
